Hello
and let me tell you a little bit about myself. In the fall of 1979,
during my senior year of high school, I started working for this studio.
At that time, it was owned by Quent Zinsmaster. On June 3, 1980, I
began working full-time. I purchased the studio from Quent of January
2, 1986. Up until the spring of 2001, we had done all our own color
processing. At that time, we were a hybrid using film which was scanned
into digital files. In January of 2004, we switched to all digital.
We do all file management and color balancing in-house and send the
high-resolution file to a professional lab to create your portraits.
All this from a guy whose grandmother owned a computer before him!
Our area of expertise:
School Photos K-11: Following Labor Day each year, I start in and
am usually on the road by 6am to a school within 40 miles of Bloomer.
If you are a person who deals with this type of photography, feel
free to contact me for a quote for next fall. Also, I do a LOT of
sports-related photography - please contact me to discuss further.
Weddings: Since I started, I have done nearly 800 weddings. I've gone
from Door County, WI to Fargo, ND. Basically I'll go anywhere, I've
found that is what keeps things interesting and fun. I'm now doing
several couples whose parents' wedding I did 20+ years ago. This is
a fun business and I have enjoyed the ride very much. I am still enjoying
the weddings very much. Many photographers have stopped doing weddings
all together, and some that haven't stopped, are kinda grumpy about
it. Not me. I've even expanded my offering to a 3 day coverage. Rehearsal,
wedding day and gift opening on Sunday. Ask for a brochure!
High School Seniors: I started photographing them when I was 18. Now,
I'm older than the parents!! It's a very fun session, or at least
I have fun! Many times the moms come too, and I've done their senior
portrait and/or wedding as well. We used to churn them through every
30 minutes. Now,we can take 2 hours, or more, for just one appointment.
Plus, we usually drive around to fun places, in and around Bloomer.
Families: Nothing is more important than a family portrait. Many times
families have never had a portrait taken. And I have some clients
that take it every 3 or so years. It isn't as expensive as you'd think,
and you get a relaxed, fun session. At the studio, my back yard, at
your location, too.
Children: Fun Fun! They need time to get to know me and their new
surroundings when you get here. And that's what you get. No waiting
in lines, no 15 minutes on the table with a bubble machine blowing...........
just a relaxing atmosphere, and all the time your child needs to relax,
and give the expression you are looking for. There is more to a portrait
than looking at the camera and saying CHEESE. And I give you that.
Commercial photography: From time to time we are called upon to do
some commercial work. If the pieces that can be transported easily,
they can be brought to the studio. If not, we can go on location.
